Ciao, I am Alessandra

Your Italian Expert

I am a professional English–Italian translator and Italian language teacher with over eight years of experience helping people connect with Italy through language, culture, and understanding.I was born and raised in Italy, where my love for languages and culture began early. After earning a B.A. in Foreign Languages, a Master’s in Translation Studies, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Translation, I moved to the United States and began building a career rooted in my passion for the Italian language and my desire to share its culture with others.

In 2016, I was added to the official list of translators of the Italian Consulate in Boston, where I’ve had the privilege of assisting clients with their Italian citizenship, visa, and study applications ever since.

Italian dual citizenship

At the beginning of my career, I worked as a part-time freelance translator, handling projects primarily for the Italian Consulate’s clients. During that time, I also taught Italian part-time in both public and private schools. As the demand for translations grew, I decided to dedicate myself full-time to my business, Elettral Translations, and to teach Italian privately, combining my two passions: language and education.

When it comes to translation, I pay meticulous attention not only to accuracy and tone but also to formatting. Most of the official documents I handle are protected or non-editable, which means I carefully replicate their original layout manually to ensure that the translated version mirrors the original perfectly. This process requires precision, patience, and technical expertise — qualities that define the standard of my work.

Today, I provide professional English–Italian translations for Consulates, Municipalities, Courts, and U.S. institutions, including USCIS — always with accuracy, confidentiality, and care. Alongside this, I teach Italian to students of all levels, offering lessons that are practical, engaging, and fully customized to their goals.

My work is deeply personal to me. As someone who has experienced life abroad, I understand the longing for one’s roots, the memories tied to family and home, and the need to stay connected to where you come from. That shared experience inspires everything I do — from helping clients prepare citizenship documents to guiding students toward fluency and confidence in Italian.

For me, translation and teaching are more than just professions — they’re bridges. Through them, I help others honor their heritage, embrace new experiences, and feel at home between two worlds.

My Mission

I help individuals and families rediscover their connection to Italy through language, culture, and understanding. Whether you’re applying for citizenship, preparing to move, or learning Italian for the love of it, my goal is to make every step clear, confident, and heartfelt.
