Our Story

From the founder, Alessandra Micco

Elettral Translations began with me. But what it has become, it owes to the people who trusted me with a piece of their story.

I grew up in Italy, and I built my life in the United States. Somewhere between the two, I found my calling. Years of studying languages, translation and legal translation prepared me for it. Becoming a U.S. citizen, and living far from where I grew up, taught me what it means to hold on to your roots. Since 2016, I have been on the list of translators of the Consulate General of Italy in Boston.

I started small: translating documents part-time for families applying at the Consulate, while teaching Italian in public and private schools. Every request came with a story. A grandparent’s birth certificate from a small Italian town. A marriage that needed to be registered in Italy. A diploma that would open the door to a new school. As those stories grew in number, Elettral Translations became my full-time work.

I have lived some of these processes with my own family, so I know the mix of hope and paperwork they bring. That is why I treat every document as if it were ours. And that care became the way Elettral Translations works: carefully, line by line, until the translation mirrors the original as closely as possible while meeting every legal requirement for official translations.

Italian dual citizenship

Over the years, those stories became our experience. Every family taught us something: a detail an office would ask for, a record that was hard to find, a different way to the same goal. Little by little, that experience shaped Elettral Translations into what it is today, and it is why law firms around the world that specialize in Italian citizenship applications now trust us with their clients’ documents. They are most of our work today, and our door is still open to every family who writes to us directly.

It all began between English and Italian, and little by little, new languages are finding their place with us. Our translations go to consulates and municipalities in Italy, to courts, to USCIS and other U.S. agencies. A birth, marriage or death certificate. The records behind a citizenship by descent or by marriage. A newborn or a wedding to register in Italy. Each one is a step in someone’s life. Behind every document is a family story, sometimes generations long, waiting to be told again in another language. Our work is to tell it the right way: faithfully, carefully, and in exactly the form it needs, so that a family’s history becomes paperwork ready to do its job, and a lineage that once crossed an ocean can find its way home.

Our Mission

To make sure your translations meet every requirement for your application, so they are the one thing you don’t have to worry about, and you can focus on what this journey means to you: your roots, your family, your next chapter.
